Like it says up there, my blog is mainly about music. What I’m listening to now whether new, old or provoked by one of my regular journeys into the random button of the ipod. I’ll try to be always kind, that’s just the kind of guy I am. Lists! - I love music lists so they are sure to appear often.
What? Name my favourite 5 artists? Ever changing, but how’s this for today? Prince, Sigur Ros, Bjork, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan. Five more? OK – Mugison, The Killers, Reykjavik!, My Summer As A Salvation Soldier, Bloc Party. I'm already feeling guilty about some I've missed like The Clash and anything involving a certain Mr Doherty.
So here’s the first thing you need to know. I am particularly into Icelandic music. 5 of those 10 acts above hail from that wonderful, wonderful country. It’s a beautiful place, great people and has the most incredible music scene. I’ll be talking loads about that, and the annual highlight of my musical year every year, as well as as much news as I can humanly find about Icelandic events in the UK. I’m in London, did I say?
After music, comes sport – it’ll be hard for me not to mention football, especially this lot and the ups and downs (mainly downs in recent memory) but fingers crossed eh.... Ice Hockey and Horse Racing (no tips I promise) will probably get a mention too.
And books, as well as being a great love, are my job. I work at a publishing company in London and (mostly) have a lot of fun working with some famous authors and a lot who deserve to be more well known, and although I’m not actually a publisher, I am mightily involved with this genius.
p.s. the inaugural random press on the ipod has come up with Give And Go by Girl Talk. Happy with that, makes me seem cool...
